I’ve been hinting at a few changes around here for a while now, and this is the week for it! We’re introducing three (count ’em.. three!) new weekly features. These will run for the next month or two, and then we’ll review things.

Here is the schedule:

Ten Minute Blogger
(Zero to twice a week, according to whim and availability: Mondays and Thursdays)
Short, quirky, personal posts very loosely related to fiction writing. These will be written fast and posted without too much editing. Expect digressions, over-sharing, and variously successful attempts at humor.

Story Geek
(Once a week: Wednesdays)
Articles about writing fiction, presented from the student’s perspective. Expect fiction patterns, writing book analysis, productivity techniques, story breakdowns, and so on. Think of it as us sharing our notes in class.

Steph’s NaNoWriMo diary
(Once a week: Tuesdays)
Steph is a NaNoWriMo newbie, and she’s agreed to keep a diary of her first NaNo attempt. I’ll be posting my emergency advice for her in this weeks Story Geek piece. She’s had a sneak preview and is already promising to ignore everything I recommend.

Links
(Once a week: Fridays)
The links aren’t going anywhere.

The future
(The future) **
We have plans to introduce some new monthly features, which will probably replace the NaNoWriMo diary when that’s no longer a relevant slot.

Also, It’s about time we looked at some of the site furniture too (try.. all of it).

Chances are we’ll be improving links and navigation in the short term, but the much needed site redesign.. well that will have to wait for a bit. It’s content first round here at the moment.

Housekeeping message ends.
